OK Mark - hands up - I'm a traditionalist when it comes to books ! But I take your point - people are passionate one way or the other. But keep up your hardback collection ( hope they are properly ordered by author ! ). Thanks for reading and commenting though - much appreciated ! JP

I love my amazon Kindle! I tend to get through about half a dozen book on holiday and much prefer to have a selection with me rather than anticipate my desire. I did think I would only use it in those kind of exceptional circumstances but have also found that I like to choose, buy and begin a book whilst having a cup of tea in bed. I will always maintain an as-extensive-as-possible library of hardbacks though.

Hey Chris - dont let it put you off. It's actually easier only knowing a few words as you can just smile and gesticulate your way around! The Japanese are so friendly and helpful you are in really safe hands. And I know you would love Hello Kitty Land or a Cat Cafe...:)

Sounds like a wonderful day Julia - what a great host you are! I looked at your photos on flickr and they are fabulous (still would like to know why noone can comment on your flickr pics??!!). Your house also looks lovely. Glad you are blogging again too! Like to know how you get on with your 'diets'. Neil and I keep trying and failing - think it's the non mid-week drinking - when we run out of wine we resort to spirits. The house needs to be emptied of all alcohol for us to succeed!!

Great to see you back "blogging" Julia. You are brave holding onto the bees, and you look VERY INTERESTING! Loved the photos of "Junior", he's certainly bonny.

You have really been getting through the books. I've finished the two you gave me by Dan Brown - Digital Fortress and Deception Point. I really enjoyed them.

Anyway keep on blogging, speak to you soon - De
